The Southern Tier's Premier Competitive Travel Soccer Program

Our Programs

***NEW*** Winter Development Program (U4-U9) (January-February)

Starting a passion for Soccer!
This program introduces young boys and girls from age 4 to 9 to the game of soccer in a fun, nurturing environment. The program is open to players of all skill levels, whether their 1st time “kicking the ball around” or regulars to the beautiful game, who are looking to improve their soccer fundamentals, have fun, keep fit and make new friends.    The sessions are taught by dedicated professional staff members who have earned USSF and/or USC coaching credentials and are passionate about the sport.  Each session is conducted using “age specific” training to keep players engaged and excited.

The primary objective of this program is to provide an enjoyable and exciting experience in every session so that each player continues to love the game of soccer.  We execute on this objective by conducting an ‘age specific’ curriculum that promotes the development of skills across all playing levels. We emphasize this skill development in a non-competitive environment that encourages players to have fun and flourish while focusing on technical advancement. Ultimately the program seeks to start a life-long passion for the game of soccer and all the incredible benefits participation brings.  For more info, please contact our Director of Development (Ryan Bordinger) at [email protected]

Fall (
Sept.-Oct.)/Spring (May-June) Outdoor Development Program (U4-U7)

Building the next generation of Soaring Capital Stars!

Here at SCSC, the earliest we offer the chance to play ‘travel’ soccer is at the U9 level and we feel that this development program will serve to better prepare players for that level of play once they reach 7 years old.  The primary objective of this program is to encourage players to be comfortable with a soccer ball and to enjoy themselves, and this is achieved through a variety of fun activities which allow them numerous opportunities to experiment with their own ball, as well as small-sided games so that they can discover for themselves what soccer is all about.

All abilities are welcome. We offer programs in the Spring and Fall.  The development program ages range from U4-U7 which includes our Starlets program (U4).

Sessions are run by our SCSC Director of Development (with assistance from older SCSC players).  In fact, this is a great chance for parents to get involved with helping out as much as possible. Don’t worry if you have never coached before or even if you have never played the game. In fact, the only thing you need to be able to do is create and sustain a positive, fun environment in which the important ones (that’s the kids) can flourish.  For more info, please contact our Director of Development (Ryan Bordinger) at [email protected]

Fall (Aug.-Oct.)/Spring (March-June) Outdoor CO-ED Festival Soccer Program (U7-U8)
Creativity and team!  NO TRYOUTS!
This is an initiative for boys and girls/U7-U8.  There are no assessments/tryouts for this program.  All players participate in 8 different festival events in each fall or spring season at area soccer clubs within BCSA (Broome County Soccer Association).  The format is a 4v4 style of play with at least 3 or 4/15 minute games at each festival.  We encourage the concept of free play and creativity which is crucial at these ages.  Traditional SCSC uniforms are worn for the "team" feel.  Practices are 1 or 2 times per week at Eldridge Park with our qualified coaches.
For more info, please contact Director of Coaching (Steve Mastronardi) at [email protected]

Fall "Experience" Program (U9-U13) (
August-October)
A team experience for all skill levels!  NO TRYOUTS!
This program is conducted in the Fall each year for boys and girls U9-U13.  Teams are formed based on available players and skill levels in each age group.  These teams play in the Broome County Soccer Association (BCSA) league.

The intent for our Fall program is to attract players from ALL skill levels from the surrounding communities to our club.  Our licensed coaches look to expand the “best practices” of youth soccer and share with the community how SCSC develops players the “SCSC way.  The program fosters the development of players through age appropriate training in a team setting.  Players develop a sense of teamwork, friendship and character all while enjoying the beautiful game.
For more info, please contact our Fall Director of Coaching (Steve Mastronardi) [email protected]

Winter/Spring Travel Soccer Program (U9-U18) (November-June)
Play Hard, Have Fun!
Our competitive boys and girls travel program is conducted in the winter and spring each year for players U9-U18, which currently include birth years 2000 through 2009.  Players in this program are selected each year as part of an annual (*November*) assessment process.  Teams are formed based on available players and skill levels in each age group.  These teams then generally play in one of the leagues listed below during the Spring:
  • Travel-- these are travel leagues like the Broome County Soccer Association (BCSA)
  • Thruway League Premier President Division-- this is a more competitive travel league, a club must be recognized as a "Premier" club to play in these leagues
  • Thruway League Premier National Division-- this is a higher level division and a team must either be invited to play in this league or their club must be promoted as a result of a top placing in the President division.  Teams must be from "Premier" clubs.

SCSC has some teams that play in the BCSA League, and some in Thruway.  Our goal is to have each team play at the level we feel is appropriate for that particular team.  We would much rather have a team challenge itself in a higher league than go undefeated in a league that does not challenge our players.

Our goal is to NOT make any cuts during our try-out process so long as we have enough players to field a second (or third or fourth…) team in a particular age group.  For more info, please contact our Director's of Coaching (Steve Mastronardi/U9-U12 or Zach Sarno/U13-U18 at [email protected]
